Mission

Train children and young generations through training centers with trained teachers who provide school education, and a staff dedicated to providing social assistance in the areas of health, food and basic necessities.

About us

The work that is carried out is of social assistance to the community. Children of purpose provides education, food, uniforms, clothing, shoes and medicine to hundreds of families. In the educational area we have a team of teachers who teach math, language, social, arts, and sports activities. This assistance is given from elementary school to the last grade of secondary school.

Our history:

Talking about the “Children with a Purpose” mission is talking about a great woman, Xiomara Merino. After having successfully raised her children, she felt that she still had a way to go in life. Deep in his heart he felt a strong desire to help others, but he did not know how to do it. One day she was invited by her local church to participate in a 30-day mission in Nicaragua. The goal was to bring a supply of food, clothing, recreational activities and spiritual formation for the families of the community.

At that time, Xiomara had the blessing that the place where the mission would take place was the same place where – anxious to begin her desire to serve – she had previously received an offer to travel and get to know Nicaragua. At that moment it all started to make sense to her. Xiomara packed her travel bag and flew to Nicaragua with her local church. Upon arriving at the place and beginning to interact with the community, Xiomara felt without a doubt that Nicaragua was the place where she should be and exercise that call to serve others. What would be a month of mission became six months, with no return.

After touring several cities in the country, one day he visited a community of about 500 inhabitants called Waswalí. It was a dry and arid land, and despite the fact that what she saw around her was very unattractive, even for her; deep down in her heart she knew that this was the place where God was calling her to serve, her neighbor. Xiomara did not have financial provisions. But her burning desire to help led her to use her own resources to begin helping that community with school assistance and food programs. At first its capacity to care was reduced to 18 children.

He attended them in his own home, using 3 school books that he had received as a donation. Today it has teachers, cooks and mission assistants who work every day for the welfare of more than 98 children in the Waswalí community.

What we do

Thanks to the support of its founder Xiomara Merino and a team of people who have voluntarily joined the mission, the Children of Purpose Foundation is helping to transform the lives of hundreds of children who have been forced to live on the streets and others who live with families in extreme poverty. The work that is carried out is of social assistance to the community. Children of purpose provides education, food, uniforms, clothing, shoes and medicine to hundreds of families.

In the educational area we have a team of teachers who teach math, language, social, arts, and sports activities. This assistance is given from elementary school to the last grade of secondary school.

On Saturdays recreational activities are carried out and children are taught principles and values of faith based on honesty, integrity, fellowship, love of God and neighbor. Every day the children of the community are provided with a daily meal. For this we have cooks and volunteer helpers, who also bring their children to the training center.
