With your help IT IS POSSIBLE!

Over the years we have been working with children from the Waswalí community in Matagalpa, and we have been able to see the social transformation, and for the better, of hundreds of school-age children. Here we mention some of the advances that we have been able to see through the years.

Healthy lives

All the children who attend the center have increased their body weight and have recovered from various illnesses thanks to the daily food they receive at the center and the access they have to medicines. They have also increased their brainpower, allowing them to excel in their school classes.

Comprehensive Growth

The vast majority are happy children, they really enjoy sharing with other children, therefore, they have increased their ability to socialize. They have learned to strengthen their identity and to be aware of possible abuse by adults. They have also increased their brainpower, allowing them to excel in their school classes.

Generations of change

Children of Purpose also aims to strengthen the moral and spiritual principles of each child who attends the center. We have been able to notice the progress they have made in moving away from crime and bad habits. They are children who mostly express love for God and respect for their peers, for their parents, are collaborators and have understood the value of forgiving others.

MOISES

This is how we named an 11-year-old boy who came by chance to the rented house where Xiomara began to develop and organize her community work.

The first reaction of the children and the mothers was a refusal to include him in the group since he was an extremely rebellious child and unbearable for everyone who had come into contact with him, at the Waswalí school, in the community and even for his friends. own parents. Faced with such a situation, Xiomara remembers having told his collaborators “We came to transform creatures, therefore, he is the first one we are going to accept on the mission.” Xiomara began to show love to that child and assign her specific assistance tasks, such as sharpening her classmates’ pencils, painting, among other activities.

And although he was punished many times for hitting or mistreating other children his age, today he has fully integrated into the group and has brought to light hidden abilities and talents. Moisés is currently a totally transformed child and has recovered from his stuttering.

JACINTO

Jacinto was a child in a very poor nutritional state, given up by the doctors and abandoned to fate…death by his family. He was so weak in health that he couldn’t walk, he spent the day lying in a hammock in his house.

At the first contact with the child, we took him to the center, we began to give him fruit and vegetable shakes, we bought him medicine, and he was put on a special diet.

Projects in progress

Children of purpose is currently working on the construction of a Training Center with greater capacity and better conditions that will allow raising the level of education and attention to the young generations of the Waswalí community. This center would also provide lodging to receive volunteers who wish to work in certain months of the year for the Waswalí community.

Social Training Center

In 2018, a donation of a 10,500 m2 land was received, the land was cleaned and the land was prepared for construction. In 2019, the external walls of the building began to be erected, however, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and scarce financial resources, the construction work was paralyzed.

Missionary house

Currently we are in the primary need to place the roof of the new building, build the industrial kitchen, place the windows, doors, lay the floor and build a water tank on the ground. This will allow us to use the center while advancing internal divisions such as the main dining room, classrooms, guest rooms, and the necessary utensils and furniture for each area of the center.

Community Chicken Coop

Build a chicken farm, which is known locally as a “Gallinero” where the workers of the center can support themselves and their families and do not depend on the immediate help that is directed to the daily operation of the Children of Mission. Purpose. Also provide them with basic tools to till the land and produce fruits, grains and vegetables for sale and maintenance of the mission.
